Micron Technology
Alondra Perez is a Senior Engineer at Micron Technology, where she supports semiconductor research through materials and surface analysis, contributing to the development of next-generation technologies. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with Honors from Boise State University and continued her doctoral studies in Mechanical Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley. During her graduate studies, she conducted research at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, focusing on thermal energy storage and advanced energy systems, and contributed to patented work in thermochemical energy storage materials.
Throughout her academic journey, Alondra was supported by programs such as the College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP), the Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation (LSAMP), the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), and the Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement Program, which played a critical role in her persistence and success in STEM. Alongside this support, she remained actively involved in organizations and initiatives such as the NASA Micro-g NExT Undergraduate Research Team, Latino/a Association of Graduate Students in Engineering and Science (LAGSES), Science Leadership and Management (SLAM), and other outreach efforts focused on increasing exposure to STEM for underrepresented communities.
Alondra is passionate about empowering the next generation of Latino students and believes that, with the right support and opportunities, they can thrive in spaces where they have historically been underrepresented.
